When students aren’t performing well in the classroom, the first solution offered is usually to study harder, put in more time with an instructor, or cut out extracurriculars.  However, as Dr. Cherita Weatherspoon shares in today’s episode, sometimes the path to academic success is being blocked by personal debris.

Dr. Weatherspoon has worked in higher education for more than 10 years, and currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of University College at Cheyney University near Philadelphia.  Dr. Weatherspoon’s work with students from a multitude of backgrounds has exposed her to numerous challenges to academic success, prompting her to identify key areas in a person’s life that can lead to a positive college experience.
